SEASONS OF MIST AND MELLOWNESS. Over the weekend we will be exploring the beauty and complexity of painting Autumnal flowers in oil paint.

Autumn heralds the beginning of the quieter part of the year, when Nature starts to slow down and gather and prepare for rest. There is a softening, a tenderness, the ‘last oozings’ as Keats wrote in his poem Ode to Autumn.

Through mark making, colour and poetry, we will try and capture some of these feelings in our paintings.

We will look at colour- its possibility to convey feeling and communicate emotions. From a technical point of view, I will show you how a limited palette can create a kaleidoscopic array of colours.

After the weekend you will have met like minded artists and made friends and connections.

You will leave with an armful of drawings and paintings and a head full of inspiration!

The Anna Lovely Gallery is a well equipped, light and welcoming space in South East London with a lovely South facing garden.

This course is aimed for those with some oil painting experience, but if you already have some experience of painting with acrylic or watercolour and are interested in trying oils for the first time, you are very welcome too.
