About RENT

RENT at Duke of York's Theatre, London, is Jonathan Larson's musical returning to the West End in a new production. Inspired by Puccini's La Bohème, it follows a group of young people living through joy, uncertainty and resilience as they try to make every moment count.

The show centres on community and connection, with Larson's score carrying a story that continues to resonate. It is presented here as a new production directed by Luke Sheppard, whose credits include & Juliet and Paddington The Musical.

Age guidance: Recommended for ages 14+. RENT contains themes of HIV/AIDS, bereavement, drug use, suicide, sex and sex work, as well as strong language, smoking, haze and strobe lighting.
