About RENT

RENT at the Duke of York’s Theatre, London, is Jonathan Larson’s musical returning to the West End thirty years after it redefined musical theatre. This new production is directed by Luke Sheppard and stars Gaten Matarazzo as Mark.

Inspired by Puccini’s La Bohème, RENT captures the joy, uncertainty and resilience of a generation determined to make every moment count. Its focus on community, connection and living fully is summed up by the line: No day but today.
