RENT at the Duke of York’s Theatre brings Jonathan Larson’s musical back to the West End in a new production directed by Luke Sheppard. Thirty years after it redefined musical theatre, the show returns in a staging starring Gaten Matarazzo as Mark.

Inspired by Puccini’s La Bohème, RENT follows a generation marked by joy, uncertainty and resilience. Its story centres on community and connection, with a message that runs through the production: no day but today.

Directed by Luke Sheppard and starring Gaten Matarazzo as Mark, this West End production is inspired by Puccini’s La Bohème and has continued to resonate for three decades.
