Roman London will present a show about the Roman invasion of Britain and its impact on Rome at the Tower Hill Tube Station exit in London. The event features various performers discussing historical details regarding the founding of London.
Who Knew that the Roman invasion of Britain was overall a bad idea for Rome? Come and learn in more depth why they came and founded London
You are probably familiar with some stories of Roman London: Boudicca as heroic figure of proud British resistance, some fragments of wall here and there, the Temple of Mithras being discovered somewhere. But this walks aims to dig a little deeper and explore why the Romans came, why they founded London and how it developed through the c.400 years of Roman rule.
We will see the major sites and remains as well as explore the Roman's motivations and approaches for "Romanising" Britain. After all, the Romans were in London for about the same length of time as from the Tudors to now: time to have quite some impact.
A walking tour for those interested in discovering the history, sites and buildings of the City of London: ideal for a day out, a birthday or other event with family and friends.
