In celebration of this year’s 175th anniversary of the Royal School of Mines ( RSM175 ), the Department of Earth Science and Engineering and Department of Materials are holding a special flagship event celebrating this important milestone. Established in 1851, the RSM was one of the three founding colleges of Imperial College London. Since then, it has nurtured generations of students, staff, researchers and educators, building a legacy of discovery and innovation across materials science and earth science. Taking place throughout the RSM building on Friday 27th November , this all-day ‘Day of Celebration’ event will bring together alumni, students, staff, industry partners and friends for a day of discovery, celebration and connection, showcasing the people, research, teaching, innovation and culture that define the RSM today. You can expect a variety of activities, stalls and demonstrations, under the theme ‘From Atoms to Planets’, and the opportunity to connect and reconnect with new and old faces alike.
