Tennessee Williams's one-act play Suddenly Last Summer will be performed at the Olivier Theatre at the National Theatre in London on 6 March 2027. Directed by Michael Grandage, the story centres on Violet Venable's efforts to protect her late son's reputation despite her niece's conflicting account of events. Tickets are available from £10.00.
Tennessee Williams's rarely performed masterpiece is a haunting story about family, trauma, and truth, in which wealthy widow Violet Venable will do anything to protect her late son Sebastian’s reputation, even if it means silencing her niece Catherine, who has an entirely different recollection of the events of Sebastian’s death the summer past. Michael Grandage returns to the National Theatre after more than 15 years to direct Emma Corrin and Harriet Walter in this sharp and brutal one-act play that will have you on the edge of your seat throughout the performance.
