The South East London Suicide Bereavement Service invite people bereaved by suicide to join us for a gentle walk & talk around Brockwell Park in Lambeth on Saturday 29th August.
Anyone who has lost someone important to them, either to suicide or suspected suicide, is very welcome.
If this is your first walk with us, please don’t feel daunted or apprehensive about joining on your own. You will quickly find yourself in a friendly, understanding group.
The walk
The walk will be between 2-3 miles long and should take around 45 minutes. We will stay together as a group throughout the walk.
We hope this will be a relaxed and welcoming opportunity to meet other people who have been through a similar experience, as well as getting some fresh air and exercise to support our wellbeing.
Meeting point
We will meet outside Brockwell Lido which is by the Dulwich Road entrance to the park, next to Brockwell Park Car Park. Our walk leaders, Amy and Jake, will be there from 11:15am.
Please arrive in time for a 11:30am start. Following the walk, you would be welcome to attend a local cafe with us to contuinue chatting.
Getting there
The nearest station is Herne Hill (Southeastern, Thameslink) and there are limited parking spaces in Brockwell Park Car Park (free for 2 hours and £3.50/hr thereafter).
Please note that:
This walk is not suitable if you cannot walk unaided.
There are public toilet facilities in the park.
