Burgh House presents Sunday Sounds, our recital series showcasing emerging musicians.
This performance features outstanding young musicians whose artistry extends beyond technical excellence, engaging thoughtfully with the cultural world around them.
Qingyuan Yang is a 16-year-old violinist whose violin journey began at the age of 6. At 9, he entered the Affiliated Middle School of the Central Conservatory of Music, where he studied under Zhang Ti and Wang Jiazhi. In 2023, he continued his training at the Yehudi Menuhin School in the UK, as a student of Professor Robin Wilson.
Qingyuan has been a prizewinner in numerous international competitions. In 2026 he won First Prize in the Hong Kong International Young Musicians Competition and Second Prize at the International Young Artist Concerto Competition in Chicago. In 2024 he recieved Third Prize at the Tibor-Varga International Violin Competition. Other prizes include Second Prize at the Grumiaux International Violin Competition, Second Prize at the Zhuhai Mozart International Competition, First Prize in the Professional Group at the 4th Singapore International Music Festival Music Competition and double First Prizes at the Hohhot International Summer Camp Violin Competition and the China & South Korea International Competition.He was selected to join the prestigious Summer School Morningside Music Bridge in Boston several times.
