Jean Racine, one of the great dramatists of the French classical tradition, whose plays are rarely performed in the English-speaking world.

Welcome to our series of Telos Theatre Open Rehearsals.

This November, our scene study is set within the heightened world of classical tragedy, Racine’s writing exposes the forces that shape human behaviour: desire, power, ambition, duty and the struggle between reason and passion. Beneath the elegance and precision of his language lie questions that remain profoundly relevant to our own lives.

Our open rehearsals offers a glimpse into our 8 week rehearsal process- where actors question, experiment and discover.

It also marks an exciting new chapter for Telos Theatre at 176 Prince of Wales Road, the former home of Drama Centre London. A building with a remarkable history in actor training, its walls have witnessed generations of artists finding their voices.

We are delighted to continue that legacy; creating a space where rigorous enquiry, artistic curiosity and a shared language of theatre can flourish.

There will be a 20 min interval.
