About This Event

Presenting Aeschylus's classic tragedy, The Oresteia brings their profound exploration of ancient themes regarding violence and justice to the stage at London's Bridge Theatre in 2026. Performed by a Greek tragedy group using both English and original Greek, this production frames the enduring myth as an immersive educational opportunity for audiences. Scheduled from September 19th with tickets available from £30.00, the event promises to illuminate timeless questions of law and retribution within the historic venue's tragic space.

About The Oresteia

The Oresteia at the Bridge Theatre in London is Simon Stone’s contemporary staging of the Greek myth. Stone is an acclaimed Australian theatre and film director known for radical reimaginings of classic works, including Yerma and Phaedra, and he also staged The Lady from the Sea at the Bridge Theatre last year.

The production follows a contemporary family that wakes up in a Greek myth and cannot seem to find a way out of its destiny. It presents the story in a modern setting while keeping the tragic framework at its centre.
