About The Phantom of the Opera

The Phantom of the Opera is a musical at 57 Haymarket, London. It tells the story of the Phantom, who lives beneath the Paris Opera House, and his love for Christine Daaé. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s score, scenery and special effects bring the story to the stage.

The musical first opened on Thursday 9 October 1986 at His Majesty’s Theatre with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles. Since then, it has become one of the highest-grossing musicals of all time.

It has won 70 major theatre awards and has been seen by over 140 million people worldwide.

Running time: 2 hours and 30 minutes including one interval. Performances: Monday to Friday at 7.30pm; Saturday at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Before you book

Children under 4 will not be admitted. Anyone aged 16 or under must be accompanied by an adult and may not sit on their own in the auditorium. Every person entering the theatre, regardless of age, must have a valid ticket.

After purchase, you will receive a confirmation email with your e-ticket; please print it and bring it on the day. You are advised to arrive at least 30 minutes before the performance starts, and you may also need to present valid ID. No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase.

Please note that Stalls Row N-S have the top of the staging obscured by the Royal Circle overhang. Single seats cannot be left in a row when booking.
