About This Event

Tosca is a Puccini opera first performed in 1900, blending romance and political intrigue set in Napoleonic-era Rome. The forthcoming performance takes place at the London Coliseum on 7 November 2026 at 18:00.

About Tosca

Tosca is an opera set in a concert hall in an unidentified European state overtaken by civil conflict. Opera singer Floria Tosca plans a secret meeting with her lover, the painter Mario Cavaradossi, but when the corrupt police chief Scarpia intervenes, the hall becomes a place of fear and violence.

Over the course of one night, Tosca is forced to fight for her love, her honour and her life. It can be enjoyed as a stand-alone performance, or as a companion piece to Kaija Saariaho’s Adriana Mater as part of a broader exploration of the human cost of war and the resilience of the human spirit.

Running time: 2hrs 10mins, including one interval.
