This workshop will take place on 14 October 2026 at Voluntary Action Islington in London to help participants find, assess, and use evidence for their practice.
Join this practical workshop to build your confidence in finding, understanding, and using evidence in your work. Whether you are planning services, applying for funding, learning more about your community, or simply curious about what “good evidence” looks like, this session will help you use evidence to support stronger decisions and strengthen your practice. This workshop is open to everyone working or volunteering in the voluntary and community sector. Following the training needs assessment carried out last year by Voluntary action Islington and Evidence Islington you told us that support around using evidence would be valuable. In response, we are delivering a series of practical workshops, and this is the first session in the Evidence Islington Programme. Evidence Islington is the Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) for Islington . Delivered by: Dr Patrycja J. Piotrowska, Research Capacity, Training & Development Lead (Evidence Islington) Registration time : 9:30 -10:00 Session time : 10:00-12:00 By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to: Recognise different types of evidence relevant to the voluntary and community sector. Find and explore sources of evidence, including the Islington Data Hub, to better understand local needs and community priorities. Assess whether evidence is useful, trustworthy, and relevant, and apply it more confidently in their work. Register here to secure your place.
