Learn how to recycle your food and garden waste using traditional bins, worm farms, and bokashi systems to create rich, nutrient-dense soil

The foundations for successful food growing begin with healthy soil. When starting a food-growing journey, we must first understand soil and how we can take care of it.

Join Laura from the Young Growers Club for this interactive, family-friendly autumn workshop in Luton designed for adults and young growers alike. You will discover the critical importance of soil health and exactly why autumn is the absolute best time to start gathering organic materials and prepping your garden beds.

What We Will Cover:

Traditional composting & pit methods: Learn how to balance greens and browns in a backyard bin, try pit composting, and use the "chop and drop" method to feed your soil directly.

Worm farming (Vermiculture): See how to set up a thriving worm bin, keep your worms happy, and harvest nutrient-dense worm castings.

Bokashi fermentation: Learn how to ferment kitchen scraps indoors (even in small apartments) using an airtight system and bokashi bran.

Live no-dig bed demonstration: Laura will show you exactly how to build a nutrient-rich no-dig garden bed step-by-step—the ultimate setup if you want to start food growing.
