BREAKOUT Day: Walk The Story
Walk through the story of a charity that’s supported more than 100 young people in just three months and meet the people helping write the next chapter.
As part of BREAKOUT Day 2026, join us for a unique guided walk through Manchester, following the story of how BREAKOUT has grown from an idea into a movement creating opportunities for young people across Greater Manchester.
Over approximately 5km, we’ll visit the places that have shaped BREAKOUT’s journey, from where the charity was built, to where we launched, delivered programmes and partnered with employers to open doors for young people.
Along the route, each stop represents a chapter in the BREAKOUT story.
You’ll hear directly from the people behind it, with young people sharing how BREAKOUT has impacted their lives, alongside the employers, partners and supporters who have helped make that impact possible.
This isn’t simply a walk.
It’s an opportunity to connect with new people, hear inspiring stories and see first-hand what can happen when a community comes together around a shared purpose.
The Story Walk will take place whilst our Yorkshire Three Peaks team takes on BREAKOUT Day’s flagship 24-mile challenge, with both events coming together under one shared mission: creating more opportunities for young people.
The event is completely free to attend.
If you’re able to, we’d love you to support our central BREAKOUT Day fundraising campaign with a donation of any amount. Every contribution helps us continue creating opportunities for young people. If you’d like to go one step further, you’ll also have the opportunity to create your own fundraising page and help us reach even more people.
Whether you’re an employer, mentor, supporter, former participant or simply somebody who believes every young person deserves somebody in their corner, we’d love you to join us.
Together, we’ll walk the story of what’s been built so far and help write the next chapter.
We are one movement with multiple ways to get involved. #BuiltDifferentByDesign
