PR Story Sell: Turn Your Journey Into a Business People Care About
Every founder has a story that matters. Most never learn to tell it in a way that makes strangers care enough to invest or buy.
You might be experiencing this:
Do you feel self-indulgent talking about your own journey?
Do you struggle to articulate why your business matters beyond what you sell?
Do investors or clients not quite "get" what makes you different?
In this three-hour workshop, you'll learn the exact framework to craft, tell, and refine your founder story so it resonates with the people who matter most.
Led by Richard Ford, an executive communications strategist who helps founders stop sounding like marketers and start sounding like themselves, this workshop teaches you the narrative structures that turn your entrepreneurial journey into your unfair competitive advantage.
At this session you will learn how to:
Identify the turning points in your journey that build credibility with your specific audience
Structure your origin story so it creates trust and differentiation, not just connection
Communicate what makes you different in a way that feels authentic and compelling
Overcome the discomfort of "selling yourself" while staying grounded in your values
Adapt your story for different audiences: investors, customers, team members, media
Deliver your story with presence and confidence so people actually remember you
By the end of this three hours, you'll walk away with:
A draft of your founder story, structured and tested and ready to deploy
Three proof points that validate your positioning
Confidence that your story is an asset, not an indulgence
Whether you're pitching investors, building your brand, or scaling with intention, this workshop transforms how you talk about your business, so investors, customers, and partners finally understand what makes you different.
To join this workshop you or your business needs to reside within one of the ten GM authorities: Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford or Wigan.
You also need to be:
The owner of the business
OR
An aspiring entrepreneur with a business idea you want to develop.
PLEASE NOTE: The Build A Business programme of funded workshops have limited places. Failure to attend on two separate occasions without prior cancellation will result in you being blocked from attending future workshops. This is due to the cost of setting up each workshop and making preparations based on the number of sign-ups.
