The Collage Workshop with Sarah Hardacre will run at Stockroom in Manchester on September 26, 2026, offering a creative collage workshop inspired by The Marvel From Marple exhibition.
Join Manchester based artist Sarah Hardacre for a creative collage workshop inspired by The Marvel From Marple exhibition at Stockroom.
Join artist Sarah Hardacre for a two hour collage workshop reimagining the future of Stockport, taking Alan Boyson's work as the starting point and combining hands on making with insight into the history and practice of collage.
Working with images of Boyson's architecture from the Stockport Archives, alongside magazines, books and a wealth of source material, we'll cut, layer and rebuild the town on the page to create utopias, fantasy lands, and the Stockport of your imagination.
The session opens with a short introduction to Sarah's practice and the history of collage, then it's straight into making and future visioning. No experience needed. All materials provided. You'll leave with your own original collages, ready to frame and display.
Sarah Hardacre is a visual artist and cultural producer based in Greater Manchester. In both her studio and public practices she works as a visual archivist and historian, trawling images in public archives to reveal hidden narratives. Her collage works explore women's experience of the urban built environment and the relationship between female bodies, architecture and space. Her work is exhibited internationally, was featured in a major retrospective of 400 years of women artists at Sotheby's London in 2023, and is held in public and private collections worldwide including the British Museum. She is represented by Paul Stolper Gallery, London.
