Join us for an in person Government Skills, Sector Connector session for Manchester's Academia sector. Reshaping Civil Service Learning: Shape the Future of the National School The Cabinet Office (Government Skills Group) is transforming how learning and development (L&D) is designed, procured, and delivered across the Civil Service. Following the announcement by the Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister, the government is establishing the National School of Government and Public Services. This event series is your chance to get an early look at what’s coming and help shape our plans before official procurements launch. Why Attend? Understand the New Vision: Discover how the National School will deliver high-quality, targeted training to ~558,000 civil servants, build executive leadership across the wider public sector, and partner with public sector training bodies. Explore the Future Operating Model: We are moving away from the historically outsourced prime-supplier managed-service model to an insourced, hybrid capability. Learn how the Cabinet Office will directly manage core operations, standard curricula, and stakeholder engagement. Discover Supplier Opportunities: While core capabilities are moving in-house, expert external provision remains a vital element of our strategy. The Three Pillars of Transformation Our transition to this new hybrid operating model by April 2028 relies on three core, interdependent pillars: Direct Supplier Relationships: Building stronger, direct partnerships with expert external providers. Modern Digital Infrastructure: Developing a cutting-edge digital learning ecosystem. In-House Operations: Establishing robust internal workflows and direct operational management. Join our upcoming market engagement sessions to start the conversation, share your insights, and prepare for future opportunities. Secure your spot today to help build the future of UK public sector learning!
