We are delighted to offer two free Stockport Stroll's as part of Stockroom's the Marvel from Marple exhibition programme and Heritage Open Day.
This one hour walk starts at Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery taking in several of the town's exceptional architectural site including Stopford House, the Hat Works and Alan Boyson's Merseyway car park screen. We will finish the walk at Stockroom where you can view the Marvel from Marple exhibition, view Boyson's work and learn more about Stockport and Merseyways history.
This is collaboration between Stockroom, Stockport War Memorial Gallery and the Hat Works as part of the Heritage Open Day and as part of programme of events & activities surrounding The Marvel from Marple Exhibition. See all The Marvel from Marple activities here. The Marvel from Marple is funded by the Henry Moore Foundation and Stockroom, and developed in partnership with Stockport Council and Sheffield Hallam University.
Heritage Open Days (HODs) is England’s largest free festival of history and culture. In 2026, it returns with a nationwide programme of open buildings, guided tours, exhibitions, talks, and hands‑on experiences.
