A civic dialogue exploring what it takes to build safer, more cohesive neighbourhoods. Part of the Safer Communities Project.

Since October 2025, Safer Communities Project has driven civic dialogue and implementation across the country, grounded in UN Human Rights Council Resolution 55/17, which calls on nations to actively promote a Culture of Peace at the community level. This dialogue series serves as a platform to present our growing civic record to government officials, policymakers, educators, faith leaders, community leaders and organisations for a high-level dialogue on practical strategies to strengthen community cohesion and build safer communities across the UK.

In July 2026, the Safer Communities Project hosted its first local civic dialogue at the British Muslim Heritage Centre, bringing together civic, youth, academic, and grassroots leaders for the first structured conversation on peace education as a tool for community safety.

This September event builds directly on that foundation for a dialogue on practical strategies to strengthen community cohesion and build safer communities across Manchester.
