About the Installation

Jelly Haven, an installation by Studio OleO and Gareth Volka, will be representing LGBTQIA+ architects at Manchester Pride 28th – 30th August. Having previously featured at London Pride, Trans Pride and Frome Festival, the walking installation now moves to Manchester as a gesture of unity across the UK built environment industry.

The winning design was selected through an open competition inviting students, recent graduates, emerging practices and established firms. The 2026 installation marks Architecture LGBT+'s tenth anniversary and its seventh Pride activation.

The judging panel included Karl Mok (Pride Float 2025 Winner), Lucy Millichamp (Programme Manager, NLA and LFA), Sarah Habershon, Thomas Bryans and Tom Guy (Architecture LGBT+).

Tom Guy, founder of Architecture LGBT+ and director at Guy Piper Architects, said: "This year's winning proposal challenged our expectations of what a Pride walking installation could be. Rather than representing architecture through buildings, it celebrates the feelings that great spaces inspire: safety, visibility, connection and, above all, a sense of belonging."
