About the Annual Symposium

We are delighted to invite you to the first annual symposium of the EPSRC Manufacturing Research Hub in Sustainable Engineering Plastics (SEP)- a £13.6 million, 7-year programme led by the University of Warwick in collaboration with the University of Manchester and University College London, aimed at transforming the future of plastics manufacturing.

As a valued industrial partner, your involvement is key to shaping the future direction of the SEP Hub. We are keen to share the progress of the Hub so far and continue to collaboratively steer the future direction of the Hub. The event will include breakout sessions designed to explore opportunites for the core projects and inform the direction of future R&D.

We hope you (or one of your colleagues) will join us for this launch event and help shape the future of sustainable engineering plastics manufacturing.

Day Programme

9:00 – 10:00 - Arrival, Registration, and Coffee

10:00 – 10:15 - Welcome and Introduction by the Hub Director

Welcome from the Hub Director, Ton Peijs

10:15 – 12:30 - Core Projects - Presentations and Breakout Sessions

Presentations from researchers on each of the core projects followed by breakout sessions to discuss the future direction of the core projects and connections between them.

12:30 – 13:30 - Lunch

13:30 – 14:30 - Priorities for Future R&D

A review of the Research Challenges followed by breakout groups to examine the key gaps in knowledge and key issues facing sustainable engineering plastics.

14:30 – 14:45 - Hub Long Term Plans & Concluding Remarks

14:45 - Close - additional opportunitiy for networking with refreshments

Opportunity to discuss potential Feasibility Studies and continue discussions. The rooms will be available for discussions until 17:00
