The Understanding Sensory Differences workshop at Crossacres Family Hub in Manchester on November 12, 2026, is a free event that aims to educate parents and carers about sensory differences in neurodivergent people.
This workshop aims to impart parents and carers with information about sensory differences amongst neurodivergent people.
This session is aimed at parents/carers of PRIMARY and SECONDARY school-aged children. *Other sessions in North and Central Manchester are also available.*
This workshop is led by a Specialist Occupational Therapist working in the Mcr ND needs-led offer and will provide the opportunity to:
Develop your understanding of sensory systems. E.g., Touch, smell, taste, movement and introduce less familiar systems such as proprioception and interoception.
Consider how neurodivergent individuals may experience sensory differences.
Think about how sensory differences can affect everyday activities.
Explore strategies that may be considered when supporting a neurodivergent individual.
Hear about the experiences of other families and share your own experiences if you wish.
Biscuits, tea and coffee will be provided. However, lunch isn't covered so please make sure to bring your own food for the lunch break.
If you need an interpreter to access the session, please ensure you fill in this information on the booking form. We need at least a week’s notice before the session to have the best chance of booking an interpreter. Each session can only cater for one interpreter so please book early if you require one.
