'Introduction to Breathwork' will be held on 4 December 2026 at The Hub, Sandwich Guildhall Museum. This session will provide a relaxed introduction to breathwork, movement, and techniques for nervous system regulation, with tickets costing £11.55.
A relaxed introduction to breathwork, movement and nervous system regulation, with simple techniques you can take into everyday life.
Introduction to Breathwork
A relaxed, beginner-friendly breathwork experience in Sandwich
Curious about breathwork but not quite sure what it actually involves?
This 75-minute introduction is a chance to explore breathwork in a relaxed, supportive environment, with absolutely no experience needed.
We'll start by getting curious about the breath you already have. Where do you breathe? Do you breathe into your chest or belly? Do you ever catch yourself holding your breath? What happens in your body when you change the way you breathe?
From there, we'll explore simple breathing techniques, movement and nervous system regulation, before putting on immersive headphones for a longer guided breathing practice.
This isn't about being good at breathing, sitting perfectly still or trying to empty your mind.
It's about getting to know your own body and discovering what works for you.
What we'll explore
During the session, we'll move through:
• Understanding and noticing your natural breath
• Simple, accessible breathwork techniques
• How breathing and the nervous system influence one another
• Gentle movement and shaking to release tension
• An immersive coherent breathing practice through headphones
• Meditation and guided relaxation
• Time to notice, reflect and integrate
You'll also leave with simple techniques that you can experiment with in everyday life, whether that's winding down before bed, navigating a stressful day or simply creating a moment to pause.
The immersive headphone experience
For part of the session, you'll be given wireless headphones and guided through a gentle coherent breathing practice using music and sound.
You'll hear cues to help guide the rhythm of your breathing, so there's no need to count or worry about getting it "right".
You're always welcome to follow your own breathing rhythm, slow down or return to your natural breath whenever you need.
Who is this for?
This session has been designed especially for people who are new to breathwork or simply curious about it.
You might enjoy it if:
• Your mind rarely switches off
• You notice yourself holding your breath or breathing shallowly
• You often feel stressed, tense or overstimulated
• Meditation doesn't always work for you
• You're curious about breathwork but a deeper workshop feels like a big first step
• You'd like practical techniques you can actually use at home
• You simply fancy trying something different
No previous experience is needed.

There's absolutely no expectation to stay and socialise. If you'd rather head home and have some quiet time after the session, that's equally welcome.
