MOTHEROTHER returns with a new programme for 2026-2028. Join Sue Loughlin (MOTHEROTHER Founder), Hettie Judah (Writer, Curator and Co-Founder of the Art Working Parents Alliance), Claire Ong (MOTHEROTHER’s featured artist at MAW 26) and Alia Gargum (MOTHEROTHER Support Recipient 2024), for talks, discussion and an exploration of creating and staining a career in the arts as a parent or carer.

MOTHEROTHER recognises that the benefits and challenges of caring are universal and is inclusive of all those with caring and parenting responsibilities regardless of age, background, disability, gender, race, religion, belief, sex or sexual orientation.

Founded in 2023 by artist Sue Loughlin as a curatorial and social practice project, MOTHEROTHER aims to increase the capacity and profile of artist and to advocate for better provision within the arts ecosystem for those with parenting and caregiving roles. The MOTHEROTHER programme is funded by Arts Council England, HELIX Arts, Culture House, Newcastle City Council, UNION Arts and The Auxiliary Project Space, with support from BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and The NewBridge Project.
