MIMA, Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art, invites you to a special celebratory visit to the Tees Valley’s first ever Turner Prize exhibition. The Turner Prize, which launched in 1984, is the UK’s most exciting and prestigious award for contemporary art. Turner Prize 2026 runs between September 2026 and April 2027.

These two-hour, free, evening events at MIMA are an opportunity for exclusive access to the work of the Turner Prize artists. Sessions will complement your work at school across a range of themes and subject areas. You will leave with at least one activity, one discussion method and one project idea to take straight back into the classroom!
