A varied two-mile circuit with old trees and plenty of woodland birds, as well as Stockgrove’s gorgeous Mandarins. Paths mostly good but steep or muddy in places so unsuitable for wheelchairs or buggies. Toilets and cafe. Meet: Rushmere Visitor Centre (signed off Linslade Rd at LU7 0EB, SP 917 289). Parking (pay on arrival) costs £5 for 3hrs, £7 for longer. We aim to complete the walk within 3hrs, so please arrive between 09.50 and 09.55 to allow a prompt start.
