The Magnesium Body Butter Making workshop will be held on 10 October 2026 at the Westbury Arts Centre in Milton Keynes. Participants will learn to make their own magnesium body butter using plant butters and botanical oils.
Whip your own magnesium body butter from rich plant butters and botanical oils in one calm, hands on morning at Westbury Arts Centre.
Spend a calm, hands on morning learning to make your own magnesium body butter, whipped by hand from rich plant butters, botanical oils and skin loving magnesium.
This beginner friendly workshop takes you through the whole process from raw ingredients to a finished jar. You will learn how shea and cocoa butter behave, how to blend and whip them into a soft, cloud like texture, how to incorporate magnesium properly so it feels beautiful on the skin, and how pure essential oils can turn a simple butter into an evening ritual. Prefer it unscented? A fragrance free version is always on the table, because gentle skin deserves luxury too.
Everything is explained step by step in plain language, with a full demonstration before you make your own. There is no complicated chemistry here and nothing to be nervous about, just good ingredients, simple technique and guided support at every stage, with plenty of time for questions.
You will leave with a jar of magnesium body butter you whipped yourself, ready to use that evening, along with guidance notes and the recipe so you can keep making it at home. It also makes a lovely handmade gift, which is worth knowing before December arrives.
This is body care as it should be: slow, botanical and made by your own hands.
Who is this workshop suitable for:
Complete beginners. No experience with skincare making is needed at all. It also suits anyone who loves natural body care and wants to understand exactly what goes into the products they use, as well as returning soap making students looking for their next make.
About the tutor:
Dilek is the founder of The Soap Academy, a botanical soap school and small batch studio built around one idea: the slow art of botanical soap and body care. She grows many of her own botanicals on her allotment, makes every product by hand, and teaches the craft the way she wishes she had been taught, calmly, clearly and one step at a time.
Dilek specialises in making natural skincare crafts feel simple for complete beginners. Her teaching blends real ingredient knowledge with a warm, supportive style, so participants move from feeling unsure to confidently whipping up their first successful batch in a single session.
Through her in person workshops and her online beginners course, Dilek has helped aspiring makers near and far turn curiosity into a creative hobby, and in some cases into the foundations of a handmade business.
