Architects, Engineers – if you are involved in
preparing planning applications – learn to survey with the latest technology, use a 1-man system to complete a survey in the field to Ordnance Survey co-ordinates
surveying sites for preparation of plans for new buildings or structures – check existing site layouts
overseeing construction work – see how to set out quicker and more efficiently than using a total station
Site Managers/Foremen
If you are involved in construction, learn how to use GPS for setting out or surveying. There will be no complicated mathematics (unless you want it!) and nothing more complicated than using your Satnav.

The Instructor
Richard hols a Batchelor of Technology (Education) in Materials and Architectural Technology from the University of Limerick, and combines a strong background in technical education with practical surveying experience.
Secondary school teacher specialising in construction-related subjects, with experience delivering technical and practical instruction in materials, architectural technology, and measurement principles.
5 year's hands-on experience working with modern surveying equipment, including instrment set up, and field data collection in practical surveying application.
Strong technical foundation in materials and arcitectural technlogy, enabling him to clearly explain surveying concepts, site measurement techniques, and best practices for learners.
Program
09:00 – 11:00 | Surveying - carry out survey of surrounding area, picking up lines, features, utilities, points. Download the survey
11:00 – 12:30 | Setting out points & lines, recording set out points.
12:30 - 13:00 | Lunch break.
13:00 – 16:00 | How the GNSS rover works, the NTRIP caster, georeference, ITM/IG coordinate system, checking your GNSS rover.
Class size
To maintain a high-quality learning environment, places are limited to 4 participants per session. A minimum of 2 participants is required for the course to proceed.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations of places within 2 working days prior to the commencement of the course will result in the full fee being charged. Cancellations made between 2-5 working days of course commencement will result in a 50% charge. No fee will apply when cancellations are made more than 5 working days in advance of the course.
