Join Us at Castletown, in our west court yard For festive song & treats from Kennedys coffee truck.

For many people, Christmas wouldn't be the same without The Mellowchords. In their Santa hats and red scarves, this West Dublin barbershop group has been a much-loved part of the festive season for more than 30 years.

Since Farmleigh House opened in 2001, they have sung there every December. Each Saturday and Sunday in the run-up to Christmas, they fill the house and grounds with carols for the thousands of families who visit. Their Christmas season also takes them to libraries, community events and the Leading Lights in Road Safety Awards at Croke Park. Each year they go out carol singing to raise money for the Capuchin Day Centre.

Their Christmas programme has something for everyone. There are traditional carols such as The Wexford Carol, Silent Night and O Come All Ye Faithful. There are festive favourites like Jingle Bell Rock, Frosty the Snowman and The Christmas Song. And there are songs that will have young and old singing along, from Rudolph and Winter Wonderland to I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas. There's lots of the four-part harmony that barbershop is known for, and a generous helping of good humour throughout.

Their afternoon at Castletown House promises to be a warm and joyful start to Christmas 2026.
