About This Event

A leisurely cycle through the Baile Ghib Gaeltacht is organised for 13 September 2026 starting at Chekhov's OTG near the Blackwater Park bridge with free entry.

This event is organised by Navan Cycling Initiative as part of Féile Siamsa Glas 2026.

Who can Participate?

The event is open to adults who are comfortable cycling on public roads.

For the safety and health of everyone involved, we have some rules:

We encourage participants to wear a helmet

• Under18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian

• Younger children may participate as passengers on parent/guardian’s bike

• All bikes must be roadworthy. Check brakes, tyres etc. before setting out. How to check bike

On the public road

W e will cycle as a tight group - maximum 2 abreast

Obey the Rules of the Road

There will be no formal first-aid or Garda support.

Pass on the Right

We'll cross the Blackwater Park Bridge, cycle through the park and follow the Windtown Road to Donaghpatrick where we turn right towards Baile Ghib. We will stop at Halla Bhaile Ghib (7km) and split into two groups -

either another 7km to Park Beo Greenway Hub via Bóthar an tSéil and Clongill

or another 14km to Park Beo Greenway Hub via Bóthar na Sceiche and Bóthar an Phortaigh.

Doughty's Park Beo Greenway Hub has picnic tables and toilets, and is directly connected to the Greenway, making it an ideal pit-stop! Each participant will be given a token for refreshments at Park Beo

Free parking and toilets are available at Blackwater park.

We'll be taking it slow and steady, so the event is suitable for riders of all abilities.

👉We will return to Navan along the Boyne Valley to Lakelands Greenway as a group at 2pm or participants may make their own way back.
