Get hands-on with chainmail jewellery and create your own helm chain piece from scratch!

Join us at Beyond the Byre & Co, Hexham to explore the art of chainmail through jewellery-making in this fun, hands-on workshop with Ellie of Rindill Makes.

You’ll be learning Helm Chain, a classic chainmail weave with a complex-looking pattern that’s surprisingly achievable. You'll use your newfound skills to create your own bracelet or chain, fully customisable with charms and gems!

Blending pattern, rhythm, and wearable design, the session will explore two approachable chainmail weaves, introduce you to jump rings and jewellery pliers, and ensure you leave with a wearable piece created entirely from scratch.

Expect a relaxed and friendly setting, lots of support, and a little bit of nerdy chainmail knowledge!

Notes:

All equipment and materials are provided, but participants will need to be able to use pliers with both hands to fully enjoy this workshop. Under 18s are welcome as long as accompanied by a responsible adult. The venue is on the first floor, accessed only by stairs, and so is unfortunately not accessible for wheelchair users.
