About This Event

The National Innovation Centre for Data event will take place at The Catalyst in Newcastle on September 16, 2026. Attendees can learn about the regional and national impact of NICD, celebrate leadership, and explore future developments.

Join our special event to learn about our regional and national impact, celebrate leadership and explore the next chapter of NICD.

Join us for a special event celebrating the National Innovation Centre for Data's (NICD) contribution to regional and national economic growth and innovation, while looking ahead to the next chapter of our journey.

The event will unveil the findings of an independent economic impact assessment conducted by Ortus Economic Research, showcasing NICD's impact since inception and demonstrating the value delivered to businesses, communities and the wider economy.

Alongside the report launch, we will mark an important milestone for NICD with our Director, Paul Watson stepping down and the formal introduction of our new Policy and Skills Director, providing an opportunity to hear about their priorities and ambitions for the future.

Through the strength of our team, partnerships and mission, NICD remains committed to delivering impact, influencing policy and supporting businesses across the region and the UK as a whole.

The event will feature a panel discussion to bring the economic findings to life through real world examples and first hand experiences.

Whether you are a business leader, policymaker, partner or stakeholder, this event offers an opportunity to reflect on NICD's achievements and explore the opportunities that lie ahead.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us any time (either via Eventbrite or at nicd@newcastle.ac.uk).
