Playing The Natural History in full plus other classics and new material

The original 1984 album, reissued for the first time since the 1980's – in violet vinyl.  Comes with a “US Zillion $ Bill”; a 24-inch x 12-inch poster with lyrics on the rear – as did limited quantities of the original.  Features Snake Dance, Religious as Hell, Crow Baby and two John Peel session tracks.  The reformed band have toured the UK, Europe & USA.  16 UK gigs & festivals are scheduled for summer/Autumn 2026.

THE MARCH VIOLETS came out of Leeds in the early 80’s, label-mates of Sisters of Mercy. Releasing six singles, they were a constant presence in the UK indie charts, hitting the top two with both Snake Dance and Deep, and no. 1 with Walk into The Sun. They didn’t get around to recording a full album – their only 1980's LPs, 'Natural History' in the UK and 'Electric Shades' in the USA, were compilations.

They were invited to record six BBC Sessions, three of them for John Peel (all available as a double-LP). Eventually they signed to a major label and were groomed for a USA breakthrough, performing in the 1987 Some Kind of Wonderful movie. However, they didn’t enjoy the compromises needed and split up.

Reformed in recent years, a new album Crocodile Promises was issued in 2024 and more recordings are under way.
