The USA is in our faces all the time, whether it be the erratic behaviour of the President, or the counter movement of popular resistance.

TWO SOULS OF AMERICA

Speaker: John Charlton

Event sponsored by NELHS

The USA is in our faces all the time, whether it be the erratic behaviour of the President, the exploits of the super rich tech giants, the neo fascist activities of ICE , or, in our sitting rooms via Amazon and Netflix (now horrifically including public executions).

Yet there is another America, less well known, expressed in the growing impact of popular resistance campaigns, communities opposing ICE, protecting migrants, obstructing the growth of massive data centres and lower levels community activities.

Both ‘souls’ are deeply rooted in American history from its origins. In this talk John Charlton delves into both sides, hopefully casting light and sparking discussion.

The session is free with an invitation to donate and all are welcome.
