Turn leftover fabric scraps into beautiful, embellished table runners or cushions in this hands-on crazy patchwork workshop
Bring Your Scraps to Life!
Join us for a hands-on, creative afternoon learning the art of crazy patchwork—a historic Victorian textile technique that combines irregular fabric shapes into stunning, textured designs.
Whether you have a stash of quilting cotton offcuts, denim remnants, vintage silks, or sentimental fabric scraps, this workshop will teach you how to stitch them together without rigid templates or strict grids.
What You Will Learn
Foundation Piecing: How to piece irregular fabric shapes using paper or muslin backing for smooth, flat results.
Fabric Pairing & Balance: How to combine different colors, prints, and textures effectively.
Seam Embellishment: Basic embroidery stitches (feather stitch, herringbone, chain stitch) to highlight your seam lines.
Project Assembly: How to plan your patchwork block into a finished table runner, mat, or throw cushion cover.
What to Bring
Your Fabric Scraps: Gather cotton offcuts, ribbons, lace, or old garments. (Extra scraps will also be provided!)
Sewing Kit (Optional): Fabric scissors, pins, and any favorite embroidery threads or beads you’d like to incorporate.
What’s Provided
Foundation backing fabric and batting.
Sewing machines, basic thread, and embroidery needles.
Ironing stations and cutting mats.
Tea, coffee, and light refreshments.
Who Should Attend?
No previous quilting experience is required! Basic sewing machine familiarity is helpful, but beginner crafters and experienced stitchers looking for a freeform, relaxing project are all welcome.
