Join IOSH East Anglia for an engaging and thought-provoking collaborative event in Norwich.
This engaging and interactive mock trial in association with the Norwich and District Safety Group will bring to life the events following a significant accident within the agricultural sector, giving delegates a unique insight into the legal process and the consequences of health and safety failures. Attendees will observe the roles of investigators, legal representatives, witnesses, duty holders and the courts, gaining a deeper understanding of how decisions are made and challenged throughout a prosecution.
Delivered by Birketts LLP's Regulatory & Corporate Defence Team, the session will explore key themes including:
Health and safety management within agriculture
Duty holder responsibilities
Incident investigation and evidence gathering
Regulatory enforcement and prosecution
Legal defences and mitigating factors
Lessons learned and practical applications for organisations
This immersive event offers a rare opportunity to see how health and safety legislation is interpreted and applied in a courtroom setting. Through realistic case scenarios and discussion, delegates will be encouraged to reflect on effective risk management, organisational learning, and the practical steps that can help prevent incidents and strengthen compliance within their own organisations.
Please arrive between 9 and 9.30 to start promptly at 09.30.
Refreshments, including a light lunch, will be provided.
This is an in‑person event. Please only register if you are able to travel to the venue.
