Join us for a very special evening with Emily St. John Mandel, the mega-selling author of Station Eleven, as we celebrate the release of her new unsettling new epic, Exit Party.

Exit Party is Emily St. John Mandel’s new mind-bending epic: a story of crimes committed and loves lost across space and time.

2031. America is at war with itself, but for the first time in weeks there is some hope: the Republic of California has been declared, the curfew in Los Angeles is lifted, and everyone in the city is going to a party.

Ari, newly released from prison, arrives with her friend Gloria just as a fragile new era begins. But there are people at the party who shouldn’t be there. Something is very wrong . . .

Years later, living a different life in Paris, Ari remains haunted by that night. Whatever happened at the party fractured her sense of reality – and may hold the key to a very different world.

Exit Party is Emily St. John Mandel’s electrifying new novel about freedom and surveillance, art and survival, love and loss in a broken world.

Emily will talk about her new book before an audience Q&A and book signing.

Emily St. John Mandel's seventh novel, Exit Party, will be published in September 2026. Her previous novels include Sea of Tranquility, which has been translated into 25 languages and was selected by President Barack Obama as one of his favourite books of 2022. Her previous novels include The Glass Hotel, which was also on Obama’s list, was shortlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize, and has been translated into 26 languages; and Station Eleven, which was a finalist for a National Book Award and the PEN/Faulkner Award, won the 2015 Arthur C. Clarke Award among other honours, has been translated into 37 languages, and aired as a limited series on HBO Max. She lives in New York City and Los Angeles.
