About This Event

The National Justice Museum in Nottingham will host a collaborative IOSH community event, a mock trial, on October 2, 2026, at 8:30. The event will examine the cost of silence and who carries the blame in a preventable tragedy. The trial will feature various defendants and the case will be presented by Emma Bowens of Bowens Solutions Limited and Elizabeth Hyde of Hesper GC.

Three Defendants. One Preventable Tragedy. Who Carries the Blame?

Join Emma Bowens of Bowens Solutions Limited and Elizabeth Hyde of Hesper GC, whilst they draw together their experience to deliver an event that will change the way you think about leadership, culture and the law.

Our case concerns a devastating fire that was predictable and preventable. Lives are lost. Three defendants are in the dock. Fingers are pointed, but who is to blame?

Places are limited. Early registration is strongly advised.

Arrive: from 9.00 am

Event starts: 9.30 am

Event close: 12.30 pm

An IOSH East Midlands, Staffordshire, Mid Shires and Midland Community collaboration.

This is an in‑person event. Please only register if you are able to travel to the venue.

This is your opportunity to expand your knowledge and enhance your professional journey. The event will support development across a range of IOSH competencies, including:

technical competencies: Continuous improvement (Technical), Incident investigation (Technical), Supporting a legal defence (Technical)

Competencies will be explored at implement and lead level.
