A Meditation and Poetry Writing Workshop will be part of Self-care Saturday on 21 November 2026 at 1 Fisher Gate in Nottingham. This workshop will focus on guided meditation and creative writing exercises aimed at self-exploration. Tickets range from £8.83 to £16.96.
Ground your creative soul. Be inspired. Connect with your inner world.
Regardless of whether you are a seasoned writer or you are new to using words as a medium for creative expression, I invite you to open your mind to a different way of processing your emotions and developing art.
My offering for Self-care Saturday will gift participants space to engage in guided meditation, writing exercises and art creation. The meditation will draw inspiration from different spiritual practices, such as yoga and qi gong, allowing participants to engage in visualisations narrated by myself. Our intention with these will be to "land" in the moment, to relax, and to tune out any distractions or interferences. Clearing our minds allows room for ideas to grow, for us to plant seeds during the poetry prompts.
Within the theme of "self-care", our writing exercises will explore the themes of creative expression to nurture each individual's own poetic voice. The idea of self-care can range from person to person, but for this workshop in particular, our exercises will play with the concepts of "slowness", "nurture" and "balance". I intend for each person to gain insight into their own requirements for restorative healing, while providing stimulus for creative expression. The writing exercises act as a brainstorm, to create space for participants to get into a free-flowing state of writing in a safe, judgement-free environment.
All equipment will be provided for the meditation and writing, however I do recommend bringing any materials which make your feel at home in your practice. This could be your favourite pens/pencils for writing and a notebook which you dedicate to journalling/art/writing.
I look forward to meeting you and sharing space with you!
