The [New Art Exchange](https://nae.org.uk/) [Corner Cafe](https://nae.org.uk/cornercafe/) (which is entirely plant-based) puts on a [community meal](https://nae.org.uk/whats-on/category/cornercafe/the-community-kitchen/) on the first Thursday of every month, from 5pm till 7. This is a continuation of their earlier community meals but now each has a focus on the cuisine of a particular country, and is paired with a relevant film. Pay what you want or can afford - donation rather than set price. Drinks are generally not part of the deal but can be bought for their usual prices. Note: it's best to get there early rather than late, to be sure of getting a meal. And unfortunately it can get crowded in the cafe and we may need to share a table with others not in the group, and be mindful of others needing space. November meal: **Syrian** https://nae.org.uk/event/the-syrian-kitchen/ "*At Corner Café, we serve up plant-based dishes from a different culture on the first Thursday of every month.* *Meals are served from 5 pm and drinks are available to buy at the café.* *Our gallery will be open until late for you to explore.* *Everyone is welcome – no one turned away for lack of funds. Sit down, enjoy a great meal and get to know your local community!* *Please note that The Community Kitchen is **first-come, first-served**. We prepare a limited number of portions to minimise food waste. While booking a ticket helps us estimate how many people to expect and promotes the event, it does not guarantee that you will receive food. We recommend arriving early to avoid disappointment.* *Our food is always vegan-friendly at Community Kitchen events and allergy information is available on request.*"
