The SHUT UP & WRITE! workshop at Nottingham Central Library in Nottingham on 26 September 2026 at 12:30 will provide a space for writers to focus on their writing. The event is free, but some sessions may incur a fee of up to £6.13.

SHUT UP & WRITE!
Rather than just thinking about your writing, come and get some actual writing done.
Whether you are working on some poems, a novel, a work project or a short story, we invite you to come write with us!
No one will read your work or offer to critique it.
The NWS session SHUT UP & WRITE! is a monthly opportunity to come and write on your piece in a safe space.
Launched for NWS by author Nick Sturgeon, our hosts (Nick. Tara or Novelette) will serve as your moderator of the group, announcing the start and finish of each of the writing blocks that happen within our two hours together. Once the writing is done you can stay and chat or head off home, knowing you have worked on your writing goals.
Bring your writing tools and your enthusiasm and we will see you very soon for the next NWS session of SHUT UP & WRITE!
