Great Milton Freecycle Live – Recycle, Reduce, Reuse

A free community reuse event for Oxfordshire residents, giving pre-loved items a new home instead of landfill.

How it works:

• Drop-off window: 9:15–10:00am only (items must arrive during this time)

• Doors open to take items away: 10:15am onwards

• No tickets required — this event is completely free and open to everyone

Location: The Pavilion, Great Milton Recreational Ground

Alongside the giveaway, we’re hosting a pop-up café in support of Wheatley Scouts, helping raise funds for their local projects.

Expect a friendly, non-commercial, community-first atmosphere — perfect for families, neighbours, students, and anyone who loves sustainable sharing. Bring what you can, take what you need, and help keep good things in circulation.

FAQs

➡️ What condition do items need to be in?

Items do not have to be brand new, but they must be clean, safe, and in good, reusable condition. They do not have to be working perfectly, depending on the item type, but anything broken, unsafe, heavily damaged, or unhygienic will be refused at inspection.

➡️ Are electrical items accepted?

Yes — all electrical items will be inspected at drop-off. Items that pass inspection will be PAT tested by the team. Please see the inspection flyer on the event page for full details. Items that fail inspection or PAT testing will not be placed in the giveaway area.

➡️ Do clothes have to meet any requirements?

Yes — clothes must be clean, wearable, and free from stains, rips, strong odours, or excessive wear. We accept all sizes, but items must be suitable for immediate reuse.

➡️ Can I bring large items?

Yes, within reason — items must be safe to move and fit through a standard doorway by two people. If you’re unsure, our team can advise before the event.

➡️ Are videos or digital media allowed?

No — we do not accept videos.

➡️ What happens if my items aren’t suitable?

All items are checked during the drop-off inspection window and will be refused if not suitable. If refused, you are welcome to take them back with you.

➡️ Can I ask questions before I attend?

Absolutely — if you’re unsure about an item, you can contact the team beforehand for guidance. We’re happy to help you check suitability before the day.

➡️ I still have questions, can I speak to someone?

Yes — please contact the Freecycle team via the event page. If you have any concerns, we can advise in advance so your drop-off is as smooth as possible.

➡️ Can I drop items outside the listed times?

No — items must arrive during the advertised drop-off inspection window only. Anything brought outside this time cannot be accepted.

➡️ Will there be guidance on the day?

Yes — our team will be available at drop-off to help inspect items and answer questions. You can also refer to the inspection flyer for details, including PAT testing information.
