About This Event

Free and accessible, Oxford's UN Older People’s Day is a popular, annual networking event organised by the Oxford 50+ Network with the support of Oxford City Council. It takes place each October, to coincide with the UN designated International Day of Older Persons, and is an event celebrating Oxford (and Oxfordshire's) older residents. It offers the opportunity for a wide range of organisations (both statutory, and local voluntary), along with advice, support, and information networks, to share valuable information about their work, and to promote activities of interest to older people and their families. This year, in addition to 60 stalls to visit, there will be: a Digital Support Room (just bring your devices & chargers and get tech-help!); 2 public talks - "Scams Awareness & Prevention" and "Reducing the Risk"; and 2 Taster sessions - a Music & Movement session and a Seated Exercise taster session. Around 60 different organisations will showcase the work they do (and how they support older people), along with informing visitors about the many opportunities available to them in their communities.
