Whether you are an academic, a designer, or just a dedicated player, you have likely noticed that Dungeons and Dragons acts as a fascinating lens through which to view social structures, history, and narrative theory. This meetup is an informal space for those of us in the Oxford area who want to move beyond the table and dig into the critical implications of the games we play. We will be sharing perspectives on how mechanics interact with themes of power, representation, and culture in tabletop spaces. The session is open to anyone interested in a thoughtful, grounded conversation. We are not looking for formal presentations, just an open exchange of ideas and experiences. If you have been looking for a community to discuss the "why" and "how" behind your campaigns, this is the place for you. We will be meeting at a local spot to keep things relaxed and accessible. If you think you can make it, please let us know by hitting the RSVP button so we have a rough idea of numbers for the venue.
