Education, health and social care workers, working with autistic or neurodivergent individuals.

Purpose
To explore the stages of behaviour change using the TransTheoretical Model (TTM), understand how to identify readiness for change, and apply practical strategies to support individuals at each stage of the change process.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
· Describe the five stages of the TransTheoretical Model (TTM): Pre-contemplation, Contemplation, Preparation, Action, and Maintenance.
· Recognise the signs of readiness or resistance in individuals considering behaviour change.
· Understand the emotional and psychological barriers that may prevent progress through the stages of change.
· Apply stage-appropriate strategies to support individuals in moving forward with change.
· Use motivational interviewing techniques to explore ambivalence and build confidence.
· Identify relapse as a normal part of the change process and respond supportively.
· Reflect on personal and professional experiences of behaviour change to build empathy and insight.
· Adapt support approaches based on the individual’s stage of change and personal context.
· Promote self-awareness and self-efficacy in individuals working toward change.
· Integrate behaviour change theory into everyday practice to enhance outcomes for service users.
