With a choice of 50km or 100km routes, there's a challenge for riders looking to enjoy a scenic day in the saddle, whether you're building up to your first sportive or taking on a longer-distance challenge.

Starting and finishing at the iconic Scone Palace, the Wild Scottish Ride combines beautiful Scottish roads, challenging terrain and an unforgettable event setting.

Our 50km route is a fantastic introduction to sportive riding, taking you out onto the open roads around Perthshire.

It's ideal for riders who want to experience the atmosphere of a road sportive while taking on a distance that's challenging but achievable.

Whether you're new to sportives, returning to cycling or simply looking for a great day on the bike, the 50km route is a brilliant way to Ride WILD.

100KM ROAD SPORTIVE

Ready to go BIG?

Our 100km route is the ultimate Wild Scottish Ride challenge.

Taking you further into the beautiful Perthshire countryside, this longer route is designed for experienced cyclists looking for a rewarding day in the saddle.

Expect stunning scenery, challenging roads and plenty of opportunities to test yourself over 100km.

A TRUE ROAD SPORTIVE

The Wild Scottish Ride takes place on open public roads, with riders sharing the roads with other road users.

This is a non-closed-road cycling event, so riders must be confident and competent cycling in traffic and riding on open roads.

Normal road traffic will be present throughout the route and riders must comply with the Highway Code at all times.

For this reason, the event is open to riders aged 17 and over only.

All participants must follow instructions from event marshals and officials and ride responsibly and considerately.

SCONE PALACE

Your adventure begins and ends at the stunning Scone Palace, one of Scotland's most iconic historic locations.

Set in beautiful Perthshire countryside, Scone Palace provides an incredible backdrop for a day in the saddle.

After completing your chosen route, return to the event village, cross the finish line and celebrate your achievement with fellow riders.

It's an opportunity to explore some of Scotland's spectacular countryside on two wheels, take on a personal challenge and enjoy the atmosphere of a Wild Deer Events sportive.

WHO CAN TAKE PART?

The Wild Scottish Ride is open to riders aged 17+.

As this is a road sportive held on open public roads, riders must be confident and competent cycling alongside other road users.

Participants must:

Be aged 17 or over on event day

Be confident cycling on open public roads

Follow the Highway Code

Follow all instructions from event marshals and officials

Ride responsibly and considerately

Complete their chosen route within the event cut-off time

Ride a safe and roadworthy bicycle

YOUR BIKE

Your bicycle must be suitable for riding on public roads and in a safe, roadworthy condition.

Road bikes, gravel bikes, hybrids and other suitable bicycles are welcome as well as e-bikes, provided they are appropriate for the route and road conditions.

E-bikes are permitted, provided they comply with UK legal requirements for electrically assisted pedal cycles.

The event will start and finish at Scone Palace, with both the 50km and 100km routes taking riders onto the surrounding open public roads.
