About This Event

Explore the Manor House on a guided family tour and discover more about young Isaac Newton's life on the farm and the discoveries he made here. There is an opportunity to handle a number of exciting objects and you may even get the chance to lock up the house, test out the weight of the wooden bucket used to collect water from the well, or even pose for photos wearing a replica 17th century wig! Discover some of the superstitious beliefs common in the 1600s too and look out for the witch mark. Participants will also get a sniff of what life was really like for Newton with special smell boxes featuring common odours from the time! On some of the Family Tour days there will be a storytime session in the orchard and of course the opportunity to admire the famous apple tree.
