With Dorota Trajdos, a workshop introducing this Japanese textile art form, at the Hobbycraft in Peterborough on 14 November at 10:30am.

Discover the Japanese art of Kinusaiga, a Japanese textile art form which involves creating fabric collages by pressing fabric scraps into pre-cut grooves on a foam board, resulting in textured, layered artworks.

In this session you will learn traditional techniques, contemporary applications and understand how colour, texture and fabric placement contribute to a finished design. The tutor will assist you to practice the basic techniques and start a beginner-friendly project such as a floral, bird or seasonal design, using a prepared template and a selection of coordinated fabrics.

You will leave with a Kinusaiga picture and the knowledge and confidence to continue this enjoyable and accessible textile art at home.

This event is for those aged 16 and over.

Your Tutor

Dorota "Dee" Trajdos is a multi-disciplinary artist. Dorota’s art spans painting, drawing, embroidery, and photography. She is a practitioner of Kinusaiga Art and realistic thread painting embroidery. Dorota aims to inspire others, showing that creativity is not only an art form but also a path to healing, mindfulness, and a deeper connection with the world around us.

She is a member of the Community Champions Alliance and in 2026 she received the Civic Award for Contribution to Arts and Culture.
